Joseph C. Marocco, beloved husband, cherished father and grandfather, passed away on February 4, 2015. Joe, 82 years old, was born in Joliet, but spent most of his life in Waukegan, IL. He was the son of Frank and Noreen Marocco. He served in the United States Marines, and afterwards operated Marocco's Pizza on 10th Street. Joe also operated Joe's Lounge on Glen Flora and Linden Avenues, where he sponsored city championship softball teams, bowling and cribbage leagues. Many good times were had at Joe's Lounge and where many have met their future spouses. Joe also owned Marocco's Lounge on Lewis Avenue where continued fun and memories were made. Joe was a member of the Waukegan Charter Boat Association and operated the Barbra Jo Charters on Lake Michigan. Joe formed many special relationships with his clients. Joe enjoyed many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, trap-shooting, playing handball at the Waukegan YMCA, golfing, wood-working, and relaxing in his back yard reading books. Joe adored his grandchildren and loved watching them play sports. He enjoyed a blessed life that centered around his wife, Barbara (nee Glogovsky) of 54 years. Joe's pride were his children: Carla Jo (David) Roy, Joey (girlfriend Daphne) and Gina Jo (Greg) Moisio. Joe always put his family first and the time he spent with his grandchildren: Danielle (Ross Haseman), Katie, Nikki, and Michael Roy, Giana Jo, Jolina Jo and Milana Jo Moisio. He is also survived by his three brothers, Wayne, Norman (Helen), and Dale (Janet) Marocco; and his sister Noreen Blair; sister-in-law Anne Marocco, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Noreen (nee Maielli); his brother Frank; brother-in-law Cal Blair; and sister-in-law Geri Marocco. The Marocco Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses of the ICU unit at Advocate Condell Hospital, especially Haile, Amanda Z and Jaquie. In honoring Joe's wishes, private services were held for the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee IL 60031.
