Not sure what to say?

I remember Joseph Matoney from my childhood in Pittsburgh, Pa where his daughter Carol and I went to school together. I was only in the 3rd grade when I met him but I remember him as a very kind and gentle man that loved for me to sing the "Girl From Iponima" to him. His face would just light up and he would chuckle as I sang. I have very fond memories of all of us together and to this day still cherish and love his family.

To All who knew Joe,
He was one of the best men I have ever kown. It was such a great grace to be with all of you at the time of his death. I do appreciate all the calls and concorn you all had for him during his illness. My prayers and the prayers of the Sister here were with you all the way.

Please remember to keep in touch.

Your kindness to all of us during the Wake and Funeral will always be appreciated.

Aunt Diane,

It's Vince's daughter Valerie. Just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. It has been a long time but I do think of you. Take care.

Valerie

Now I really am so grateful that Jack and I made the trip to CA to help celebrate Uncle Joe's 80th. It was such a wonderful opportunity for us to be with the west coast branch of the family. When I think of Joe (we never did call him uncle), I think of a smiling, thoughtful man. May those and all the other memories of him help the family through this difficult time. This family has been blessed many times over.

We hope that the memories of Uncle Joe comfort his wonderful family and sustains them in this time of saddness.

Dearest Carol;
We are very sorry for your loss. The newspaper obituary was so very lovely and gave us a feel for what a wonderful and educated man your father was. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers as we know your sorrow. We would love to get together and have you tell us about his life when you return
