Not sure what to say?

I only met Joe a short time ago but he was one of the easiest people in the world to talk to and he was instantly likeable. I was able to help him to get walking, but he didn't realize that he helped me by becoming a friend. My condolences to the family!

God promises he is near to those that are broken at heart and those who are crushed in spirit he save. May that promise and your dear memories bring you comfort. We send our deepest condolences.

I am sorry for the loss to the whole Mattern family, he was a father, and a brother.
We can only take comfort in the fact he is pain free. May his family take comfort in that. Rest in peace Joe....

Uncle Joe you will be missed. I am praying for the family.. Jason, Candice, and Jennifer my condolences I send to you. And I'm very sorry :(

We will always remember the great times at the Elks, and especially the campout at October Hill and Joe's encounter with the skunk. God bless him. Jack and Mary

Our thoughts remember all the conversations and laughter around the campfire that we were so lucky to enjoy with Joe, family and friends. Each time a lantern is lite and sent on its way, we will be sending a hello too Joe. Will be sadly missed by the Hayguys and their familys in Flushing, Ohio.
