What an amazing friendship our dads shared for over eighty years, spanning coast to coast, fire to fire, 35 Eliot Street to 51 Eliot Street, Chestnut Hill, MA to Portland, Oregon. All persons who ever worked for Joe McCarthy I'm sure would say the very same thing: Joe McCarthy was the Best Boss Ever! The employment office sent me to the John Hancock office about 1960 to apply for a job with Mr. Joe McCarthy. After a short visit, he hired me on the spot as his very first claims adjuster. I served with Joe for many years on the board of directors at Hollywood Senior Center. He was a great gentleman and one who cared much about his community and about volunteer work. He was a highly friendly fellow too. We will miss you Joe.
