Joseph F. McDermott

I grew up across the street from Joe in Lynbrook and remember him as the bartender at Rasputin’s when in High school. Joe and I both moved to Rockville Centre and so we were fortunate to remain friends. Joe went through a lot in these past fourteen years - he fought as hard as anyone I have ever known. He has left behind three beautiful, intelligent and thoughtful children, therefore, he will never be forgotten. God bless them always.

My condolences to Joe's family and friends. Joe was always kind to me, never a bad word came from him, he was larger than life to me, talented in so many ways, he will be missed.

Joseph was my bestest, dearest friend in Junior High and High School. His family, was like ...my own. I loved him.
Also.. my father loved him. Which was QUITE THE ACHIEVEMENT. My Dad saw Joseph's soul...He was the ONLY male freind that my father embraced and my family considered him.. family.
Recently when discussing the upcoming 30 year High School reunion.. my Mom shared a touching moment with Joseph, she said,"He won my heart that one Thanksgiving". Joseph was visiting.. and my...

I remember a sweet and hunky, tall and tenderly funny guy who played hard and laughed hard. He was missed at the LHS reunion....I would have loved to get one of his bear hugs. My heart goes out those near and dear.

My heartfelt sympathy to my friend Joe and his family. Joe was a great high school friend of mine and I as many are saddened over his loss.
