Joseph H. "Peter" McGee

Peter was a proud son of Charleston, a son of newspaperman Hall McGee, a sound advisor to our historic preservation community, and a genuine Southern gentleman. We need to continue to engender such individuals.

I tried my first Civil Jury Trial against Peter in the early 80´s and He was ever the worthy Advocate and true southern gentleman and a Charleston Legend. He commended me after the trial and gave me some pointers that I will always remember!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family as I have just returned from out of town to read your father´s obituary. Certainly, he was an unselfish contributor to the well-being of the Charleston community through his efforts with many civic/community organizations. The word "icon" is often used but, in this instance, referring to your father as an "icon" is an understatement.
