McKee, Joseph R. age 77, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Thursday, July 18, 2013. Loving husband for 57 years of Susan Grone McKee; loving father of Mary (Jim) Hamilton, Jennifer (Jon) Roussin, Margaret Brockmeyer and Kathleen McKee; grandfather of 5; dear brother of Judy (Vince) Shaw and the late Mark McKee. Born in St. Louis, he was a cadet at Howe Military School, graduated from Chaminade College Prep and from Colorado School of Mines. A proud petroleum engineer, he raised a family in Venezuela with the love of his life, and since the age of 33, faced the challenges of brain injury with grace that inspired all who met him. His legacy to his family and friends was his witty sense of humor, joy in everyday life and a deep faith in God that helped him endure and accept what the Lord sent him. Services: Funeral Tuesday, July 23, 10:30 am from COLLIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd. (St. Ann), to Our Lady of Presentation Church, 8860 Tudor Ave. (Overland), Mass 11 am. Words cannot express what he meant to me, or the empty hole I feel in my heart now that his physical expression is gone. I have regrets, and great memories, both. Mostly, I have such big love, and I thank God for that. Love Kathleen, youngest daughter.
