Not sure what to say?

Fondly remembered today as I drove into RAF Croughton, UK. The changes you made during your short tour here are still evident to this day.

What a blessing to have known him. Just came upon a picture today of Col (Ret) Joe Means! I will never forget learning of his passing and the shock of it. Today was a wonderful reminder of the man I respected and admired as a leader and friend. He helped propel my career when I had no idea what he was up to. A chance meeting in the hallway at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). I had just returned from Iraq. He tells me to have a write up on his desk by noon--it was already...

Always fondly remembered and often thought of, your leadership and mentorship gave me the tools I value to this very day, you are a true inspiration

Joe and I met in college and he was always the same happy, easygoing friend throughout the many years of our relationship. I fondly remember his visits to Omaha's Offutt Airforce base followed by a late
dinner with my family (so late the kids were asleep). The jokes and laughter came easy no matter how much time had passed since our last visit. I remember him standing over my daughter's crib on the first visit after she was born and marveling at the fact that we were both husbands and...

Every time I drive through entrance at RAF Croughton I think of you Col Means - you gave me values I still adhere to to this day - you empowered me and allowed me to shine - I am so thankful that our paths in life crossed not once but 3 times, 1st time when you were the base commander here at RAF Croughton, 2nd when you came back to RAF Croughton TDY and 3rd when you came back with your family to visit- Rosalyn, Rachel, Olivia, Sarah and Elizabeth my thoughts are with you all - Emma RAF...

I can't believe that it has been a year. He was the conscience of the Trustee Ministry and a good friend. He was strategic in his thinking, and only wanted to help the church. I really do miss him. Sis. Means and family do know that I will always hold the memory of this brother in my heart and soul.

Miss you, Joe. Rest in Heavenly Peace.
