Not sure what to say?

To the Merlo family, I'm sorry for your loss. he was my Varsity Basketball coach at NT in 1980 and 1981. He was a great coach, but he was a better man. I learned a lot from Joe and through my journey in life, I have often thought of my time playing for him and learning from him. He will be missed.

what a great person deepest condolences from the Gambino family

Mr.Merlo was my grade six teacher at Gilmore School some years ago. I always remember how well he dressed and encouraged his pupils to look good, be respectful. He was a true gentleman. He impacted me the most from all of my fine teachers in those early years. My condolences to the dear family members.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Mr. Merlo was my very favorite teacher! He is the reason I can spell antidisestablishmentarianism. I have such fun memories from his 4th grade class like eating Thanksgiving dinner!!!! Rest in Peace Mr. Merlo... You were awesome!

My Deepest Condolences to the Merlo Family. You are all in my prayers. He was a wonderful Man and Teacher. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, Mr. Merlo

My sincere condolences to the family. Mr. Merlo was my 6th grade teacher at Gilmore Elementary School GENTLE giant (I guess to a little kid all adults were giants) He must have done a great job teaching me as I ended up being a Principal in the Rochester City School District - I never saw Mr. Merlo after being in his class but always remembered him .......a kind man!!!!!

To my dear brother...you were always a bright shining star to Dad. He was so very proud of you, your family, and all you accomplished. I pray peace and love surround you on your journey.

Betty and family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May your many good memories help you through this difficult time.

To the Merlo family,

Mr. Merlo was a wonderful man and basketball coach. I have very found memories of my days playing on his freshmen team at Lowry. I also enjoyed the times we got together with Mr. Merlo when he taught for my dad at Meadow School. God bless you all at this very difficult time.

My deepest sympathies,
Mark Duguay
