I only saw Joe play hockey in the O.M.A.H.A. Senior League that played at Hitchcock, circa 1981-82-83 when I was a Scorekeeper, but wow, what a great player! Even when his team was way down, he'd give his all and fight to the end, no matter the score - if I had a team he'd be my first pick of players. Condolences to the family and friends, he was a helluva competitor.

Let me tell you about Joe. When my husband was dying five years ago, the last thing he did was call Joe and said to him take care of her. So that´s what Joe did He took care of me. He shoveled my walks. He mowed my Lawn and I was the last one on his list of things to do. My house was probably the last one on his list of things to do. Because he would always come into my house at the end of the day and we would have a couple of shots of tequila and shoot the breeze. You´re one of a kind Joe...

I am shocked and saddened about the passing of Joe. Joe would take a late lunch at the sons of Italy and I would give him a plate of feather bones and he was so appreciative. When my brother Jim´s house caught on fire , Joe put my brother up in one of his apartments. He made sure my brother was comfortable. May you be reunited with your family and friends and find a pair of skates that fit. You truly was a good man and the lord knows that. My pleasure Joe.
