Joe and I were coworkers at Savings Banks Trust Company (later Nationar) and commuted on the Long Island Railroad from East Rockway until I moved to Islip. While I was never in the East Rockaway Fire Department with Joe, after I moved to Suffolk County I have been a member of the Islip Fire Department. I consider Joe a brother firefighter. RIP Joe.

While my and husband and I never had the pleasure to meet Joseph, we feel as though we knew him through the beautiful stories Kristen has shared with us over the years. He was a man loved by many, and will be dearly missed. We are so sorry for your loss.
