Building and Bonding
As a union carpenter, Joseph D. Mistrulli was good at putting things together, and he made a career of putting together some of the best-known places in New York City: the Russian Tea Room, Madame Tussaud, Niketown, Windows on the World. But his life's work was not a building at all. It was his family. "He worked all the time, not for himself, for us," said his son, Joseph Jr. "I can't tell you the last time he did something for himself." The elder Mistrulli, 47, was adding a second floor to the ranch house in Wantagh, N.Y., that he shared with his wife, Philomena, and their three children. He had finished the children's bedrooms but, typically, left his and his wife's for last.

Not sure what to say?

Seems like yesterday the Saturday before that Tuesday we were working at NBC /General Electric at 30 Rock in the executive offices doing punchlist I was working for an architectural woodworking company he was working for the ceiling and wall contractor we´re both rushing to try to get out of the place Joe as he was rushing around like a madman trying to get out of there to get home . We both met in the bathroom and I asked Joe what are you going to work next week and he said the trade center...

You will never be forgotten ❤

Dad, I can't believe it's almost 21 years that you have been gone. There are so many times that I wish I had you to talk to. You were taken way to soon and I don't think there will ever be justice for your murder. I pray for the strength to keep fighting for what is right. I hope your at ease and until we meet again one day I'll forever be your little girl.

Our continued heartfelt thoughts of deep sympathy we send to your family. Nothing will ever remove the deep pain of losing someone loved. May God continue to give the support and comfort needed with each new day. Joe touched the lives of many others and will always be lovingly remembered.

Daddy,

My heart breaks more and more each year nothing will ever mend this pain. I love you and miss you

To the Mistrulli's,

I went to grade school with Joseph. So sorry to hear about Mr. Mistrulli as I knew him. He was always on our school trips as a chaprone and was kind and gentle man. I can't imagine the pain you all must feel. They say time heals all wounds and I hope that you all find peace and happiness in the days and years to come. God bless Joe and his family.

We saw your name at the memorial today. We stopped since it had part of our name in yours "Strull". Made us think how it could have happened to any of us. RIP

I was thinking of you all day today Daddy. I miss you so much. Your grandkids signed up for the baseball season and you would have made the best coach.
