As a parent I cannot imagine the loss you are feeling. Although I did not know Joe or your family personally, I am saddened that someone so special was taken from you. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you. Continue to be aware of all around you. He is an angel now with our Lord, and his presence will be felt as you continue life on this Earth. Know that life here is but a short time and a stepping stone to the glorious "after" our God has promised us.
