The first time Joe ever met me, he called me the wrong name and tried to give me a pet bird. I was immediately a fan. Over the last 25+ years, he never stopped surprising me with his jokes, his antics, or his subtle way of paying attention to the people around him. I had a family member who suffered from significant emotional issues during his elementary school days. Joe was one of the few people who could connect with him and help him re-focus, even when some of the 'pros' couldn't. He was humane and will always be a hero to me and my family.
