Joe was a thoughtful and loving neighbor in the few years he spent in our apartment building. In the best of times, he was eager to celebrate milestones, plan cookouts and bake his famous lemon cake for us and our children. In the worst of times, he was ready to offer guidance and sit together on a cup of turkish coffee.Whenever things went awry, he'd always remind himself and us that God is the Almighty. In his words, man should only worry about three things, "faith, hope, and charity."...

I have many fond memories of Uncle Joe especially growing up. He and Aunt Addie were at my house for many special occasions and holidays until he and Aunt Addie moved to Ohio. He also watched my children grow up when they both moved back to Chicago. I can still hear his voice when we spoke on the phone. He would always say, “hi Beth” and call me sweetheart. We last spoke just a week ago and he was excited that his second wife’s son RJ was moving in with him. I was happy to hear that someone...

We have nothing but good memories of times spent with Joe and Addie. Jim loved to golf with him and we enjoyed many a good meal and fun card games with them, along with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lois and Al Barner. He will always be a part of many happy family memories.
