Wow, I just found out about this and I am shocked and very upset by this news. I was a long time customer of Joe's going all the way back to his shop on Memphis and Roadoan in Brooklyn. I coached his son Alex a few years when he played in the Brooklyn youth soccer league. Alex was an outstanding boy which is a reflection of his father Joe. I'm shocked and sadden by the news. He was a good friend who'll be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his whole family.

How very sad I was to hear about Joe....He was always a swell guy to me whenever I dragged one of my rustbuckets up to him for help,and I know his friends are just crushed. His heart was bigger than the oil stain my car's making in the driveway. I wish his family well.
