How many times they told me at NIH that but for him, I would not be alive. He was a great man and a great doctor. I will remember him always.

"Uncle" Joe was a caring individual. He cared about you, and did everything possible to heal and help you. He had a sense of humor and a laugh that would brighten a room. I will always treasure the memories he created with my family. We have lost a uniquely wonderful person. My condolences.
