Dr.Ornelas was the doctor who helped bring me into the world in 1959 at Mercy Hospital, and was the doctor who set my broken arm when I was 5 years old at the clinic in Merrillville. He was our family doctor for many years. My thoughts are with his family. What a great man he was.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Dr. Joe, as he was known in our home, graduated from HS with my parents, Thomas ( Ed) and Geri Starr. He was our family physician too and when I was born, he was the attending physician. My middle name is Jo, named after him. I remember numerous house calls he would make, his tender care of my Mom all the years she was ailing.
