Our dear beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Joseph C. Ortiz, 36, of Chamberino, entered eternal life Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1979, in El Paso, Texas, to Conrad J. Ortiz and Paula Sanchez. Joseph's passion was baseball and he was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his passing include his mother, Paula Sanchez of Chamberino and her companion, Richard A. Sanchez, of Vado; his father, Conrad Ortiz of Anthony; a brother, Angel R. Ortiz and wife, Nicole, of Anthony; a half-brother, Gustavo Ortiz of Phoenix; two half-sisters, Gabriela and Jennifer Ortiz, both also of Anthony. Other survivors include nieces Alyssa, Shannon and Destiny Ortiz; a nephew, Angel Ochoa; as well as numerous cousins. Joseph was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Paula D. Valtierra and paternal grandmother, Magdalena S. Ortiz.
Visitation for Joseph will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, in San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine St., in La Mesa where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
Serving as casket bearers will be Gilbert and Henry Morones, Joe Najera, Rene Rios, Aveeno Aguilar and Reyes Valtierra. Honorary bearers will be Mark Rios and Frankie Montes.

Paula, I was shocked when I heard, I could not imagine the feelings that you are having to deal with. You are an outstanding mother and all was shown in Joseph, an awesome son.
