Not sure what to say?

Our sympathy to you, Elaine, and to your family. Joe was a good neighbor and a pilar of Pineview.

Jim and Marcie Schlee

I worked for Joe two years at U-M Hospital. He was very kind to me, a fumbling amateur in the Hospital PR business, and he ran a relaxed but well-functioning office of people who liked each other and worked hard. I will always remember his insisting that I come for Christmas dinner with his family. He was genuine in the way so many of the later "marketing relations" people were not. My thoughts are with you and your family, Elaine.

Not sure I signed the last, about "first boss." If not ... Lou Cartier, Greeley, CO.

Elaine -- Joe was my first boss after college and a tough one, who hid his soft heart from us rookies ... until we were invited to your home, met you, and gained the confidence we just might survive the city desk after all. It was a privilege to work for and alongside your husband for many years. God rest his soul. God bless your family.

Elaine, what a wonderful obituary - it is fitting for Joe.

Elaine, I'm so sorry to learn of Joe's death. He was a good friend in the UM days and, for a while, we were neighbors on Stanley St. Although I never got to know you, I certainly knew of you through him. It is very hard to lose a spouse, but keeping occupied helps.

Dear Elaine and family,

I'm saddened to hear of Joe's passing. He was such a nice man and I enjoyed spending time with him. God bless.

Elaine and family, I am so very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I have fond memories of you and Joe.

Rest in peace Joe. IIt has been a pleasure knowing you all these years from the UofM to St Andrews Church.
