Joe was my Teaneck PAL boxing coach 1967-1968. He was kind and patient, schooling me in both the mechanics and the mindset of the 'sweet-science'. I would never have achieved all that I have without the poise and self-confidence I developed under his schooling. He had dinner at our home at a time when racial tensions were high, never allowing it to divide us. He was a fighter above the fray, and a gift to his community. He is sorely missed.
