The first thing I asked when I went to the SEHS party last night was "How is Joe Park doing?". Michael L. said he had passed away right after Thanksgiving and services were held on Dec. 6th (my birthday). I'm so sorry I wasn't around. I was traveling at that time, took off the day after Thanksgiving and returned on the 7th. That's why I didn't even see anything in the papers. Otherwise, I would have shown up to add my support and love to you. May I call you soon? Let me know...

When I think of Joe now, I think of a quote by Maya Angelou: “.... people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Joe always made me feel loved. What a gift!

Dear Susan,

Amelia and I were sad to hear about Joe's passing and it was she who quickly asked if we could go to the memorial service at King's Chapel. The service was a wonderful tribute to a good neighbor, a good friend and a singular person. We look forward to seeing you soon and hope you do not hesitate to ask us for help.
