Joseph “Vic” Parrott, 84, of New Edinburg died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his home. He was born May 12, 1923 in New Edinburg. He was a member of the New Edinburg United Methodist Church where he served as trustee and he was a member of V.C.T. and the American Legion. He was a World War II veteran and he had worked for the Kinney Shoe Company for 38 years with his wife Jean as his assistant. He worked in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He retired as manager of the Pine Bluff store in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean Waters Parrott of New Edinburg, two sons, Ronald W. Parrott and his wife Jan of Bullhead City, AZ, George V. Parrott of Tucson, AZ; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Sam Miller of Fordyce; two grandchildren, Donna Martindale and her husband Jack, Joseph M. Parrott and one great-grandchild, Dixie Martindale. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lydia McCulloch Parrot and one sister, Ella Mae Parrott Colbert. Visitation will be Tuesday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev. John Kidwell officiating.
