Not sure what to say?

MR. PEKAR WAS MY TEACHER AT JONES AVE. JR. HIGH. HE WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER WHO WAS IN TUNE WITH HIS STUDENTS. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE MR. PEKAR. MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY IN THIS TIME OF SORROW.
GLORIA LAWRENCE

Our deepest sympathies to all of Joe's family. I was a classmate and graduated the same year.

JOE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE JR. HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS. BEING PESKY 8TH GRADERS, WE TEASED HIM ABOUT HIS DANDELION STEW THAT HE SAID HE MADE.HE WAS WELL LIKED AND VERY INVOLVED WITH HIS STUDENTS. I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM FONDLY. GOD BLESS.

I remember Joe from our days at Duqesne University. We received our principal certifications at about the same time. I continued teaching at Wilkinsburg and Joe was at Norwin. Joe was a fine educator and will be missed greatly by those whose lives he so positively influenced.
Rest well.

Mr.Pekar was my home-room teacher at
Wilkinsburg Junior High in the early 60's. He was one of my all-time favorites. I remember him telling us of when he met his wife. He said she had a great tan and had a white outfit on - - and that was
it for him; he was helpless! I don't know why that stuck with me all these years. It was just so cute. What a great guy.

Best of Luck to the family of a great guy. From one of his college roomates. Joe Duffy

He was a good and fair man and exellent football coach! The world needs more like him!

You are in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless You.

May you rest in peace, Joe.
