Mr. Petrillo served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Korea from 1968 until being honorably discharged in 1970.

He always opened up with a joke to welcome you. He was always helpful and thoughtful with people; helping strangers with flat tires and helping the elderly.

Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very proud of this first grandchild and godson: Brayden.

I have such wonderful memories of working with Joe during tree emergencies and storms while the Lewis crews were assigned to Newton.
I honestly never had to worry when I knew Joe was on the job. He was great fun to be with and also to watch him do his job was an honor. I will miss his story telling ability and his big, warm smile. My thoughts and prayers are for his family. Carol Stapleton, City of Newton, Parks & Recreation.
