Not sure what to say?

I met Father Pettit in Paris in 2003. We shared a love for photography and art.
He would always encourage me and had a very positive influence on my life over the years.

I will miss him dearly.

Fr.Joe Pettit and I were classmates in the seminary from the time he entered after leaving the Navy. We were the best of friends, even though we went separate ways when I was sent to work in Japan. Even so we managed to get together for a day when I has home on furlough. The last two years I tried to get in touch but was unable. So very sorry to see the notice of his death.

May Father Pettit Rest In Peace Everlasting!

I will really miss my loving Godfather very much, he has always held a "special place in my heart, as I in his". Now he is home with his sisters and brothers all who have gone before him. He visited my mother Roberta, his eldest sister on her death bed, which made her so very happy. I am sure they are all very happy to be back together in Heaven at this time. Sharon Louise Centilla Valentine, eldest daughter of L.G. Centilla and Roberts (Esch) Centilla.

He helped my wife and I find and embrace our vocation in marriage. He would be glad to know that his Godson is learning to play the piano on the electric piano he gave my wife and I after we got married. Our kids (and us too) also immensely enjoy the classical music library he gave to us. Our lives were forever changed by him and we remain eternally indebted. Like St. Therese I am sure he will be showering down flowers from heaven for us. Holy Father Joseph, pray for us. Requiem aeternam.

Rest in peace father Joe, I have fond memories of sharing Thanksgiving celebrations and playing frisbee in the yard. You would often surprise us with the latest in frisbee technology. We love and miss you. Mary Beth and Dan Budzynski

With Fa. Pettit's blessings, I became Catholic and married at St. James in Montague 25 years ago; my wedding was delayed an hour thanks to hurricane Gloria (father was late flying into GR airport), after my wedding, Fa. stated that my first born daughter should be named "Gloria"...we named her Lauren. I also became a Lector & Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist with Fa. Pettit's encouragement....his kindness, smile & compassion touched me in many ways. Thank you, Fa. Pettit!

Wish we could have known you better. Mother (Juanita Esch Schindler) spoke of you, Fr. Joe, often..always in glowing terms..always with great pride. Now together again in heaven...brother and sister...family. Our prayers, Barb Schindler Causseaux
