He was roommate and friend in G 3/12 at Camp Pendleton CA. We were both from middle Tennessee and drove at least three times from Nashville to southern California and back and I visited his family at Christmas. He was a bit of an Ernest Hemingway type - willing to take risks and try just about anything.
