Mr. Poli was not only an outstanding Spanish teacher of mine at NDHS, but also a great friend to me and my buddies outside of school. I'll never forget how he could command class' silence and full attention of all of his students when he entered the room. The man certainly had it down - and we were by no means a well behaved group! I was very saddened to hear of Mr. Poli's passing. He was my Spanish teacher for two years. I remember we had to do a project for class, and I chose to bake cookies. Although I tried my best to follow the recipe, they didn't quite come out the way I expected. Apparently I was right judging by the look on Mr. Poli's face when he bit into one. However I still got an A for effort. In my yearbook Mr. Poli wrote "It's been good to know you." Mr. Poli, it was a pleasure to know you, too.

Mr. Poli was such a wonderful guidance counselor to my self and many other students at Notre Dame High School. He would always make sure that I was smiling everyday when I would go to his office to talk. Mr. Poli will never be forgotten.

Mrs DePuglio you taught me French and Spanish and I grieve with you at this sad time in your life. I never had your brother as a teacher, but at every event we had at Notre Dame either he was a chaperone like in Florida where he wondered where I got the cigar.
