Joseph Rigney Obituary
Joseph Walter Rigney was born in Boston Massachusetts on May 25, 1942, Joe passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2022 at the age of 79 with his loving wife by his side. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his beloved son (Joe) and brother Al. He is survived by his wife Micki, daughter, Joanne (Eric) Stamm step daughter Katy (Doug) Martin and granddaughters Kyna and Sarah Martin. Joe served in The US Marine Corp and later became a police officer in his hometown of Boston. Years later he moved to Citrus hills, Florida where he had a career managing condos, owning a comic book and sports memorabilia store and running his irrigation company. For just shy of 50 years he was a sports official/umpire for youth sports. He was a devout catholic and avid golfer. In his later years, he and his wife have been residents of Green Valley, Arizona. Joe was a kind and funny Irishman, he will be forever missed by all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held on March 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at
St Pius X 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo Tucson, AZ.

Joe and I grew up together on Kerry Corner, Cambridge Ma. We went to Paris Island three days after graduating from High School. He was the Best Man at my wedding. We got in touch years later at our High School Re-Union and remained close again. I could write a book about our teenage escapades. I´ll miss him.

My heartfelt condolences to Micki, Katy and Doug, and ALL of his family and friends. I was fortunate to have been able to spend some wonderful times with him and his family and so enjoyed his wit, wry-ness and honesty. They don't make em like you any more Joe!! May you Rest in Peace, Irish!!

I´ve known Joe for some time.I´m in the automotive repair industry and Joe was a customer of mine. I looked forward to seeing Joe. He was always cheerful and never a cross word to say. I always enjoyed talking to him when he came in. The heavens have gained an Angel. God speed Joe. RIP

Joe was such a nice gentleman. Each time Lucky and I would be doing our daily walk, Joe and his Wife Micki would make sure they had a treat ready for him.
