Dr. Robitaille was my Principal at Lincoln School in New Rochelle, New York, more than 50 years ago. He was the quintessential Principal at all times. He supported his teachers in every way. As a new teacher, I could not have found a better mentor. Fortunately for me, our work relationship became a friendship, and for the past 50 years, Joe, as I now call him, became a friend. Dr. Robitaille was a kind, soft spoken man during his tenure as Yonkers Supt. I was a high school student. They wanted to move our graduation ceremonies from evening to day. We lobbied him and he changed the ceremony back to evening so people like my dad didn´t have to take th e day off from work! I brought him a piece of cake from DeLite (then on McClean Avenue) to thank him.
