RODDEN

JOSEPH "JOE", departed from this world after a fearless five-year battle against the cancer that finally took his brief but vivacious life on April 3, 2013. Born in Philadelphia July 25, 1960, son of the late James and Catherine (nee McLaughlin) Rodden, Joe was a graduate of Roman...

Not sure what to say?

I was so fortunate to attend Joe's Memorial Mass on 4/13. The chapel was filled by so many of us who knew "Little Joey Rodden"(my memory phrase). He will always be in my mind as the ecstatic little 3 yr old in his snowsuit after the first blizzard hit Livezey Street. Joe grew from a gentle boy to a gentleman, all the while, his laugh & smile & glint in his eye remained unchanged.

Dear Jimmy, Connell and Greg,
I am so sorry to hear about Joey's passing. I saw him a few years ago and he was as nice as ever, I just loved him. Know that you are all in my prayers during this very sad time.

It is an honor and privilege to have known such a wonderful person as Joey. His kind heart, sense of humor and caring friendship will live on forever in each of us that he touched. Thanks Joey for all the great memories growing up together. Your memory will be cherished always.

“May the road rise with you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rain fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, may God keep you in the hollow of His...

The entire family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We have wonderful memories of Joe.

My deepest sympathies to Joey's (that's how I remember him) family and loved ones. I grew up in the twin house immediately across from Joey's. He was one of the sweetest, nicest guys I have ever known. I can still hear his infectious laughter echoing between our houses. I'll never forget him.

Joe had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up a room. He made all of our lives a little richer just by knowing him.

Rest in peace Joe. You are at peace now!

We are having a memorial Mass for Joe next Saturday at the Sisters of Mercy Chapel and all of Joe's Roxborough/Philly friends are invited with a luncheon following.
We Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.
Jim, Connell and Greg

I am so sorry John. My prayers go out to you and the rest of the Rodden family. Joe was a special part of our lives(Shields Family) on Livezey Lane. I am proud and privileged to know him and call him friend for my 52 years on this earth. God Bless!!!
