Not sure what to say?

As I have said many, many times, Coach Sampite was not only my favorite coach and teacher, but also one of my very favorite people. We remained friends long after my high school years and kept in touch as late as a week before his death. He called me and we shared our mutual love and respect. I thank God for the opportunity to have spoken with him that one last time. I wish the very best always to his family. Know that he was loved and respected by all who knew him! - Tim

I have always considered Coach Sampite one of my most influential teachers/coaches/ mentors/ friends! I still include him in my morning prayers everyday, asking him to pray for me. I miss him and long to see him again in the next life.

Even though it's been over a decade since Joe left us, he is still in our thoughts. Joe was such a great mayor of Natchitoches. We still continue to miss him. Jim Brown.

I still think of Coach often. He was like a second father to me in my teenage years. So many great memories!

I still think of Coach very often. He was more than a coach, teacher, and mentor to me. He was a dear friend and like a second father. I miss him very much!

I think of Coach often still and miss him very much! He was a wonderful man and a great influence on my life and the lives of so many others.

I have know Mayor Sampite for 20 or more years. Him being a board member for MERS, I got to know what a sweet and wonderful man he was. Always supporting the City of Natchitoches no matter where he went. Handing out Natchitoches stickers, giving Christmas light bulb necklaces to the ladies, he was always joyful and a delite to be around. I will sure miss him and he will always be remembered.
Will be praying for the family.

I remember Coach Sampite as our civics teacher at Jesuit Shreveport back around 1963. We always had some "spirited" discussions. He will always be remembered as Coach.

He will be missed and I keep both Coach and his family in my prayers.
