Mrs. Sandoval and family, it was my pleasure to work in the Bridge Office with Joe. In fact, when the great ice storm of 1978 hit and the entire city lost power, Joe came with a flashlight and rescued me from a pitch black ladies room! He was a nice man, and a terric co-worker. God Bless.

About 4 or 5 years ago an older guy was standing nearby watching a high school football game in Auburn. We talked and joked a bit and everyone was happy to see him the following week where we talked and laughed some more. Old Joe (our nickname for him) became one of our sideline gang. He'd ride to away games with us and we'd always save him his spot on the fence at home games. Your day was always better when Joe was a part of it. His sense of humor was fantastic and his zest for life...
