Not sure what to say?

What timing! I was thinking very fondly of Sr. Sanger last week as my wife and I traveled to Bogota, Colombia. The strong Spanish foundation I received from him over 30 years all came rushing back and enabled us to engage with so many wonderful people during our time there. In fact, I think his emphasis on proper pronunciation may have made things more difficult, since the native speakers assumed I'm more fluent that I actually am:) I'm really looking forward to seeing him again before...

Been 10 years since we last saw you, but we'll meet again very soon! I'm now about the age you were when you went home, but the next time you appear to us, we'll be changed, & we'll be the same age in the rapture! Hallelujah! See you soon!

Joe Sanger was my best friend at Hershey High School for 35 years. Joe was like a big brother, a kindred spirit, a terrific role model, whom I could go to for advice, support, and encouragement. I cherish the 100’s of times we sat together during our shared lunch periods, the many faculty meetings, and numerous in-service programs. I, also, have been a witness that “Bro Joe” loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. His life was certainly a testimony to all those to whom he had...

Senor was a wonderful teacher and made such an impact on so many of his students, myself included. He will be missed. Meghan (Class of 97)

Our condolences to Sharon, Marcus, Michael, and the rest of the Sanger family. Senor was a very special teacher and friend to our 3 children (Michelle, Chris, & Rick) as they learned such excellent Spanish from him. But even more, he showed his love of the Lord in his actions every day in his interactions with the students, parents, and co-workers. He will be deeply missed and has left an eternal legacy behind. As you grieve the loss of this special man, may you be assured that our Lord has...

We are thinking of many memories of Uncle Joe. He will be greatly missed. May God comfort you - Sharon, Marcus, and Michael and your families.

We were so saddened to hear the loss of Brother Joseph. When we thought the Lord was sending us to Venezuela, he came to our home in Mt.Gretna and taught rudimentary Spanish. I still remember a lot of it from those lessons. What a kind, gentle person he was. He is now in that great cloud of witnesses, waiting for the rest of us. Love and prayers to you all, John & Ruth Ann Heisey

Senor was the best teacher ever. He had a great sense of humor and made learning an active and fun experience. He is the reason I can still speak spanish now. Much love to his family. Know he was well loved and respected. Erin (HHS 1996)

To all of "Uncle" Joe's Family
I had the honor of meeting Jonell's Uncle Joe on the Israel tour. "Tio" (is what I called him) was such a joy to be around, always with such a big smile, and a twinkle in his eyes.
He will always be so special to all of us on the Israel tour, his life was a testimony of how he lived and what he stood for. Tio was an example for all of us, for he was a true Christian. There is another void in our lives, but we have a promise that we will meet our loved...
