I lived nextdoor to Joe all my childhood years. Never ceased to amaze me. He would come over sometimes when my parents were out and sit and chat with me like I was an adult. He had the most amazing stories... I don't remember many... Some had to do with the land he had owned and sold to the school system... About the indigenous who had lived in the region and things he had found walking the property. I really liked listening to him talk back then. He used to give our weimaraner graham...

Years ago, I had the honor of playing music with Joe Sartini. In all of our encounters, he was both an excellent musician and a fine gentleman.
