Rev. Joseph O. Schell

Father Schell was a wonderful priest and teacher who touched the lives of many students,including myself, with his kindness and compassion. I will always have fond memories of him. I'm sure he is in Heaven with the Lord.

I remember Father Schell as a kind and gentle man - He will be missed.

As we celebrate the life of Fr. Schell, my most vivid memory is that he definately shaped my views for lifes challenges in my days at John Carroll by example and thoughtful guidance. He was a consummate priest and I will never forget him.

Father Schell was a wonderful teacher, priest & friend to me since 1943 when he came to St. Ignatius in Chicago on his 1st teaching assignment. We corresponded when I started premed & I still have one of his letters to me, a real treasure. Requiescat in pace, Father.
