I am so sorry to hear of this loss to the Schreiber family, and to everyone Mr. Schreiber’s life and work touched. I count myself truly blessed to be in that number, impoverished that I did not have the privilege of singing under his direction, and hope to see and hear him again in the realm where Yhwh reigns supreme, the Lamb is all the glory, and there is no more sin, no more suffering, no more tears, and where all that is not music is silence. Just reading the accounts of his life in the...

As a choir member for 7 years, I learned the joy of singing high church music as it was meant to be sung. He required discipline, so that the gift of God's music would never be compromised. His artistic leadership was a gift to us all.

I have many memories of rehearsals, and Sundays, not counting, the many trips to Europe. Dancing in the streets in Germany, being only one of them. What a wonderful legacy of friends and memories he has left behind! I am so thankful, that his suffering is over and he is in the arms of our Savior, and with his beautiful daughter, Trisha. We wil all meet again one day. What an honor, to be able to sing at his memorial service!

With deepest sympathy. I am one of the many people that Joe Schreiber's music touched. He will be greatly missed; Birmingham has lost a great talent.
May God be with you at this time.

From a chorister first, an assistant second, and a devoted fan for all the years before and after, my memories of such a fine leader, a father-figure, and an inspiration will live on in my heart. Mr. S really believed in the AGO motto "To the Glory of God Alone" and lived it every day.
Always.

My wife and I are very sorry for your loss while at the same time very thankful for his life. I was an Acolyte for many years, and will never forget being directed by Mr. Schrieber and sitting next to him as Acolyte Captain at the dinner. We were also very blessed to have Mr. Schreiber play at our wedding. To this day people still tell me they remember the music at our wedding! I will also never forget how he would always stop and say "Hello" and ask how I was doing regardless of how late...
