On August 9, 2007, Joseph A. Schwindt went to be with God and his Molly, still waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series. He was born and raised in Jordon, Oregon and married Molly on September, 27, 1932. They moved from Jordan to Monroe in the early 1940s. Then in 1955, moved to Oakridge...

Not sure what to say?

I just came across a five-page story, written by my grandmother, Frances Freitas (Schwindt). I was humored to see in her story, the following:
"My brother Joe tipped the car over going around the corner too fast. I remember he did that to several cars. This happened at night when he was out having a good time. ...Next we owned a blue Hudson...my brother Joe turned that one over too and acid from the battery ruined the beautiful interior..." Above it referenced him saying, "I"m the best...

Jim, I just happened on your dad's obituary, I'm so sorry. I was there one day with Wanda and he gave me a glass of "juice" I took a big drink and thought I would die, your mom scolded him and he got a big kick out of it.

JOSEPH HAS LIVED A LONG LIFE. HE WILL BE MISSED HERE AND GREATED BY HIS LOVED ONES IN HEAVEN. WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROCKEN? HOPE YOU ALL ARE PREPARED TO MEET HIM THERE. BELVA G. IN CA.

One of my earliest memories of Grandpa was when I was about 6 years old, he took me fishing near Monroe. He was filling his creel with fish (I was just trying to keep from falling in the river) when he caught this little trout that was about 4 inches long. Instead of putting it in his creel, he put it in his jacket pocket. I asked him why he did that and he told me it was too small to keep, but the game warden wouldn't check his pockets. We'll miss you Grandpa.

JOE TOLD ME ONCE THAT HIS WINE WOULD CURE ANYTHING...WHY DIDN'T I GIVE MY DOG SOME TO MAKE HER LOOK BETTER, MORE LIKE 'LIL LASSIE. I SAID MAYBE IT WOULD MAKE HER HAIR FALL OUT. HE THOUGHT EVEN THAT MIGHT BE AN IMPROVEMENT....

It' hard to know what to put down on paper, so here is our favorite memory of Grandpa. Easter, he was 80, everyone was playing softball and he takes a turn and hits the ball over the fence. The game was over. Who could have beat that one!

I will miss my great grandpa very much, but i won't miss his whiskey cherries.
