Read MoreWhen I was a preteen In the 1950s, Joe's family owned a shoemaker shop in southside Easton where they also sold candy and magazines. Although I never asked him to, every month he would set aside a copy of Mad Magazine and some other comics that I liked so I'd be sure to get them. I still have them all. He was a quiet, gentle man and a good neighbor.
