Joseph "Joe" Silva Sr.

Joseph " Joe " Silva Sr. 72, formerly of Staten Island, died peacefully at his home
on Sunday December 18 2016.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday December 21 from 5-8pm at the
Rossi Funeral Home 1937 Westfield Avenue Scotch Plains NJ 07076.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St Jude Children Research Hospital
501 St Jude Place Mmephis TN 38105.

Joe was born in NYC, NY lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island prior to settling to
North Plainfield in 2007. Joe was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving his
country during the Vietnam War. He was a corrections officer with the State of New York
and for many years worked with the Staten Island Advance newspaper in Delivery.
Joe was an old movie buff a loving father and grandfather.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Barbara S. (nee Halliday ), his loving children
Persida Silva, Samantha Silva-Rios, Sarah Odim, Rachel, Christina, Joseph Jr. and Matthew Silva.
Twenty Seven Cherished Grandchildren and his caring siblings Jessica Babich, Sylvia Silva, Esther
Fuentes, Julia Khamis, Juan Silva, Luis Fuentes and their families.
