Not sure what to say?

Simo (as we called him) was one of my favorite high school teachers at North High. I loved learning about philosophy from him and especially discussing the book Siddhartha. He would always give me a friendly hello and stopped for a quick chat whenever we jogged past each other on the lakeshore path. The powers that be have reclaimed a wonderful teacher and spirit.

When I first started at North, Joe was one of the first teachers outside of my department to reach out and get to know me. He was always kind and I enjoyed working with him. Truly a wonderful person

Simo was my favorite among the faculty at Sheboygan North. Admittedly a handful in class, I was disarmed by his sincere interest in me, humor, and gift for communication. I went on to become a teacher and coach, thinking of him when confronted with a challenging student or attempting to motivate students to think deeply. I am grateful for his influence. Marc J. Papendieck Sheboygan North Class of 1982

I will miss Joe's laugh, Much more than that I WILL MISS JOE.

Ah, Shelley, the world just lost a good one. Will always remember Joe for challenging my pre-conceived notions and encouraging me to think beyond math and science facts and the end of my nose, and for being a great friend to my dad. My sincerest condolences. ❤
