Not sure what to say?

To all of Joe’s Friends,
I wish to thank all of you who were a part of his life in the Lowell area. He always talked about working with great people, and how you were all friends. Joe always could bring out the best in anyone. In the past 20 years he lived in my life I know that he never forget any of you. I had the newspaper framed that you made for Joe when he left the paper. It still hangs in our bedroom so that every morning he would walk by and it still put a smile on his face. ...

To Joe's Family I am so sorry for your loss-- Joe was my next store neighbor on Blossom Street in lowell- He also gave me my first real Job at the lowell Sun. My memories of Joe echo the rest of the comments-- Good man tough on the outside a teddy bear on the inside and he loved to play softball.. he will be missed.

To Joe's family, I wish to send my sincerest sympathy on your loss. Joe was a great influence on my life. I worked for Joe for six years at the Lowell Sun. He was more than a boss. He was a friend and mentor. It was Joe's faith in me that helped me move beyond the Lowell Sun. He was always pushing for me to go back to school and to live up to my potential. I attribute much of my success in life to him and the things he taught me.

Joe Skehan is a man who new great joy and also heartache, loss and pain. Through all the ups and downs of his life his kind spirit could not be broken and his love of people never diiminished. Joe is the eternal example that demonstrates the old addage " ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG" All my love Joe! Gods Speed!

Joe really was something...a cut above the rest. He had such a way with people. He could be your friend, your brother and sometimes a father figure. He certainly had the respect and admiration of so many (whether he realized it or not). I can just picture him sitting at the kitchen table chatting with the daycare kids, and enjoying every minute of it. We all have great memories of Joe from our days at The Sun and on the softball field. He'll be missed.

to the Skehan family sorry for your loss he gave me my first truck driving job at the sun in 85 I went to school with Kimberly and my brother Ray with Jeff. Joe was a great man and i will always remember him. Thanks to him I am still in the paper business for the UL.

I first met Joe almost 30 years ago. He was my boss, but quickly became my friend who helped me through some tough times. Under that gruff exterior was a kind, gentle and generous man. I still remember and will never forget all the good times we shared at bowling, "The Parkway", our apartments across the street from each other on Nesmith, and all of us trekking up to Ctr. Ossipee to stay with him at the Mt. Whittier because we missed him. My sincere sympathy to Kellie and kids. Joe, may you...

Joe was a great guy.He hired me in '79 and I worked for him (driving) until '82.The hours were great for me while I attended U.Lowell. I enjoyed working for him and am glad I got to know him. Remember the green cigars ? He was one in a million. May he rest in peace.
