Joseph Andrew Slane

Joe and family moved to Great Bridge in Virginia in the Spring of 1966 and quickly became good friends to all. His smile and friendship are some of the greatest memories of growing up.

There is no better blessing than a smile and a warm word from Joe.

I had the pleasure of having Joe guide me through communion class at Franklin Presbyterian Church back in the mid-eighties. His insight, calm presence, and kindness left a lasting impression on me. I´ve thought of him often over the years, and I´m saddened to know he´s no longer with us. His spirit will live on in everyone whose life he touched. Godspeed, Joe...

I am so sad to hear this news. Joe knew that he was called to career ministry and fulfilled that with honor and grace. Such a positive guy and encourager when we journeyed through school (elementary thru high) So glad we will meet again someday. Prayers of comfort for his family.

Joe officiated my wedding in 1982. We appreciate his kindness and the pre-marital counseling. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Joe was a wonderful pastor of our church for many years. My mother (now in heaven) thought so much of him. I will always remember his warmth, caring personally for everyone, his heart felt sermons, and just his love for people. I know he is in the hands on our loving Lord, and He is saying well done my good and faithful servant. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Joe Slane was a gift from God. He guided me and held me through some very strong storms of life. He prayed for me every day for all of these years and I felt them. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
