Joseph P. Slater, Jr. passed away on May 3, 2025. Born to Ethel and Joseph P. Slater, Sr. on September 17, 1940, in Philadelphia, Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia Slater (nee McCormick), with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Joe was a devoted father to Joanne Krauth, Stacey Woratyla (Joseph), and Joseph P. Slater, III, and a cherished Pop Pop to Amanda, Tara, Brandon, Alyssa, Rachel, Kristen, Megan, Mira, and Shay. He was also a caring brother to Eileen, Patty Ann, and Denise and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
A proud graduate of West Catholic High School, Class of 1958, Joe lived his life in Philadelphia, where he built lasting relationships with family and friends. His trips to Wildwood with his family were some of his happiest memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. Jerome Church, 8100 Colfax St., Philadelphia, PA, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
