Joe was a very good friend who was an incredible family man. I have never met anyone who loved his family more than Joe. When he lived in Kodiak we would go to breakfast most Saturdays and spend the morning shooting at the range. Those were great times. He was one of the few people that I met in my life that I trusted. I could count on Joe for anything. I wish Evelyn, Francis & Joey peace & sincere condolences during this incredibly trying time.

I met Joe his first day in Fairbanks. One of the joys of my life was working with him and sharing his adventures. The world has lost one of the good guys. Ken Lougee

I worked "across the aisle" from Joe on many cases he and I shared. A gentleman with a sense of humor who listened and responded fairly. I miss our long conversations. Wish him well on his next journey. regards---nelson traverso
