My heartfelt sympathies to the family of a great man. Though I was not a scientist and colleague, I supported the Office of Programs in Boulder, CO from the late 70's to the mid-80's. Whenever Dr. Smagorinsky came to visit, he was always so kind and interested in all of us no matter our station in NOAA.
