Not sure what to say?

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to my brother who lost a wonderful Father-In-Law...his wife who has lost her beloved father and my nephews who lost their Grandpa who they loved so and adored. After fifty some years together may Mrs. Barbara Smith find courage and strength somehow and cherish all the many most wondrously beautiful memories she has of her dear husband. Mr. Smith was a wonderful gentleman who was always so very kind to my family and I. A "TRUE" family man indeed! We will surely...

I first met Joe back in the early 70's in the DOT materials lab. Over the years my wife Teresa and I both got to know Joe through our jobs at the DOT. He truly was the expert when it came to Bituminous materials. But more importantly he was a nice guy, I can't ever remember him losing his temper. He will be truly missed.

Haven't spoken to Joe in many years but knowing him for 30 made me understand that he surely will be missed by anyone who really did know him. Rest in peace Joe

Truly a great man. Not an angry bone in his body. It was an honor to have him as my father in law. He was my sons grandfather as well as his best friend. RIP Pop.

He was quite simply the kindest, most compassionate, decent, gentle man I've ever known. I could not have picked a better Father-in-Law or grandfather for my children.

I always enjoyed his company and conversation. He was a good teacher and was always willing to give professional advice that I could count on when I needed it. A part of him will, patiently, live on through me. Thank you Joe.

I am so saddened to hear of Mr. Smith's passing. He was a wonderful man that I will always remember. Growing up in Hamilton Square and being friends with his daughter Cindy, I treasure the memories I have of a loving, family man. The Smith home was a harmonious place to visit and I always felt "at home" there.

Mr. Smith's Santa visits were legendary and a highlight during the holidays. I was lucky enough to have him come by and visit with my own children when they were...

We are saddened to hear about our dear friend's passing. Joe was a very special individual and was loved by all.
We are very honored to have worked and fished with Joe.
