Joe was always willing to make the long trip from Minnesota, or Michigan, to come visit us in Utah. My fondest memories of Joe are at Christmas, him sitting by the fire reading bedtime stories to Sam. It would have been easy for Sam to not know his grandpa. But Joe didn't let that happen. For that I will always be grateful to Joe.

So many memories. The one that stands out the most at this minute was his experiments with photography when we were seniors. I remember one photo of a close up of my eye with a reflection of a lit candle in it. There were the youth trips to Colorado and Lake Placid, New York. I will be forever grateful for your parents opening their home when I needed a place to stay.

Joe was such a wonderful person. We all loved him very much. He was always encouraging always smiling. Love and prayers to all the family he leaves behind. Celebration to all those friends and loved ones he is now visiting with again?
