Joseph O'Neal "Joe" Smith

Wonderful to reread his obit and to remember his great spirit. Still can smell the peach cobler waiting!

I was so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. This is a wonderful and appropriate photo of him with the very well written obituary. He is described - and depicted - very well and appropriately. I remember him as outgoing, friendly, full of ideas and eager to put them into motion. I worked with him many years ago at the MUSC library when he was hired to spearhead a new program, the Learning Resource Center. His enthusiasm was always appreciated. And while our paths have not crossed for many...

There were many years that the Smiths and the Nieterts shared the St Andrew's Cove Creek camping experience. I am grateful for his life.

I have fond memories of Joe from his MUSC days. Always upbeat with a witty take on things.

Thankful for the small group meetings held at your house and the fun we had at the bethel class all those years ago. Celebrating a like well lived life. Bet that grin is even bigger now.

This hits hard. I will always remember joes cobbler at cove creek. His readiness with a story, his laugh, his warmth, his love for Jesus and his desire for us to know and experience Jesus´s love. We are grateful to have known him and send mountains of love to Gene and all the family.
