Our visits have been few and far between, but I can honestly say that we have enjoyed the conversations we have had with you and Joe. He was a wonderful man and a delightful person to talk with. We returned home today to find a telephone message telling us of the passing of Joe.
Sandy, we were so sorry to hear of your loss.
We enjoyed our visit, so much ,with you and Joe, and him telling us all about his Collection. Such a love of the Sport he had. Our son-in-laws and some of the Grandchildren would have loved the chance to visit and have him tell about his Collection.

I was informed yesterday of the passing of Joe Sommers one of our fellow former BNSF Northtown Mechanical employees due to a recent illness. He was one of our great mechanical Northtown Diesel Shop electricians as well as a personal friend to so many of us who worked with him.
Few men have been held in as high esteem as he was for many years for his dedication and expertise in mechanical repairs and maintenance of equipment getting trains out on time.
